Board brings extensive regulatory and industry experience in financial services to strengthen the GDCA’s presence in Washington DC as a proponent of fit-for-purpose and effective digital assets regulation

CHICAGO, IL, November 20, 2023 /24-7PressRelease/ — The Global Digital Assets and Cryptocurrency Association, a member-led advocacy group for the digital asset industry, today announced its newly elected Board of Directors. The Global DCA’s board is composed of a diverse mix of global industry leaders with deep experience in blockchain technology, regulatory affairs, market structure and taxation that will steer the organization’s mission.

Since its inception in 2021, the GDCA has worked with legislators on both sides of the aisle to deepen awareness and understanding of effective, nuanced legislation to protect consumers while supporting the growth of the digital assets ecosystem. GDCA Chairwoman Renata Szkoda says, “Global DCA is a community of people with high standards, entrepreneurial wit, commitment and a deep sense of responsibility for the industry, fostered by a strong belief and a clear vision of a better world and an interconnected global financial system made possible in so many ways by the blockchain technology. Joining incumbent board members Renata Szkoda, CFO INX Digital and Jenna Wright, CEO LMAX Digital, the Global DCA new board members elected in November 2023 include:

Alex Abedine, Esq. Vice President of Regulatory at Talos. Abedine brings deep product and regulatory experience in payments and crypto, previously serving as Senior Counsel at Coinbase and Lead Counsel at Meta. He earned his JD from NYU and MSc from the London School of Economics.
Erika Harford, Esq. Former Associate General Counsel at Anchorage Digital. Harford is a strategic advisor to financial and technology innovators and an established expert in securities and commodities law. She has guided GDCA’s regulatory strategy since its founding.
Jim Knox, Esq. Regional Managing Practice Leader of Aon’s Blockchain and Technology Industry. Knox drives the growth and development of Aon’s regional Blockchain and Digital Asset industries assisting hundreds of companies and foundations globally.
Ayla Kremb, Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer at Diffuse Inc. Kremb brings more than a decade of experience in emerging tech commercialization, from corporate innovation labs, R&D fundraising consultancies, high growth startups, and accelerators.
Sarah Richard, Esq. Former Legal Counsel at Blockdaemon. Sarah brings over a decade of experience in emerging technology regulation and policy, previously serving as Corporate & Compliance Counsel at Blockdaemon, Head of US Policy at a developer-focused trade association, and at crypto exchange Gemini. Sarah leads Global DCA’s Advocacy Committee.
Joe Schifano, Esq. Global Head of Regulatory Affairs at Eventus. Schifano has served as Deputy Chief Counsel and Global CCO at Tower Research Capital, Vice President of U.S. Markets (Legal) for the Intercontinental Exchange (NYSE), Director of Equities Supervision (Americas) for Barclays Capital Inc. as well as multiple leadership roles at UBS Securities.
Josh Sroge, Chief Financial Officer HBAR Foundation. Josh is a 30 year finance and accounting professional, he previously was the CFO and interim CEO of BinanceUS, and prior to that was the Chief Accounting Officer of ShapeShift. Prior to digital assets, he worked at GE and Dassault and many Boulder CO area startups.
