Morris Bart will become an official sponsor of the Jazz Fest Gospel Tent.

NEW ORLEANS, LA, April 06, 2023 /24-7PressRelease/ — Morris Bart, the ubiquitous face of personal injury law in New Orleans, will become an official sponsor of the 2023 New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, better known simply as Jazz Fest. While the festival has historically garnered some significant and well-known sponsors, such as Shell and Miller Lite, local sponsorships are less common. Morris Bart has specifically sponsored this year’s Gospel Tent, which has been a key feature of Jazz Fest since it’s inception in 1970.

“Gospel music has strong roots in New Orleans. The New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival has done a great job helping to preserve that by showcasing a variety of Gospel music from popular names to local church choirs. It’s something that I have always appreciated and now I am honored to be able to support it.”

A destination event for many jazz musicians and cultural enthusiasts, the festival has taken many steps in the past and present to promote inclusivity and diversity beyond just featuring a variety of artists and being hosted in a very demographically diverse area. For instance, one highlight of this year’s festival will be that the Cultural Exchange Pavillion is set to feature Puerto Rico for the 2023 season. This will include demonstrations, dress, crafts, and even samplings of traditional Puerto Rican dishes.

Morris Bart and the festival organizers have been collaborating to take things a step further this year. As part of this partnership, Morris Bart is donating over 1000 Jazz Fest tickets to performers from the choirs of local New Orleans churches. His goal is to give those artists the opportunity to bring family or friends to the event.

“I’m very pleased that the festival coordinators were able to help us make this all possible. The Gospel Tent is my favorite attraction at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival. “Every year Jazz Fest has some great artists and attractions, and there’s nothing better than hearing the passionate music of these gospel singers.”

It’s said that at the very first New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival there were only four stages and the Gospel tent and that many acts didn’t even have microphones. That year’s lineup even featured the Queen of Gospel herself, Mahalia Jackson. In the years since then, things have certainly grown. This year’s festival will feature a wide variety of food, beverages, art exhibits, crafts booths, and of course, hundreds of performing artists.

This year’s Gospel Tent lineup will include the Watson Memorial Teaching Ministries Mass Choir, the New Hope Baptist Church Mass Choir, the Franklin Avenue Baptist Church Choir, and many more.

The 2023 New Orleans Jazz Fest will run from Friday, April 28th through Sunday, May 7th and already promises to be a spectacular event. Tickets are now available at https://www.nojazzfest.com/tickets/.
